Erdőbénye, located in the heart of the Zemplén hills, is one of the most secluded wine villages in the Tokaj wine region. The HelloBénye initiative was created to promote the winemakers, vineyards and attractions of this picturesque village.
We are organising a number of events throughout the year and we hope that you will join us!
Vineyard picnic with winemakers
Join us in visiting the vineyards around Erdőbénye and sampling premium single-vineyard wines with the winemakers themselves during our unique tour. Learn all about the particular vineyards and wines, as each winemaker shares their story.

Tour starts from: Kossuth utca 23, 3932 Erdőbénye
Expected duration: 10:30 to mid-afternoon. The walking tour between the vineyards is 4-5 km long.
The tour includes the wines, 1 wine glass and round-trip bus transport from Erdőbénye to the vineyards.
Due to the limited number of places, registration and prepayment are required.

Picnic under the stars
Join us in the Omlás vineyard to watch the sun set behind the backdrop of the Zemplén mountains while sipping premium wines with Erdőbénye’s winemakers. Once the sky darkens, astrophysicist Gyula Szokoly will guide us on what can be seen in the stars above and we can chill to the electronic beat of winemaker Attila Homonna and local resident Pál Juhasz.

Mark your calendars — this year we will also host one of last year’s most atmospheric events!
From late afternoon, the winemakers will be waiting for you with music and chilled wine in Erdőbénye’s Omlás vineyard, where the festivities will continue until the wee hours. (Let’s share a secret — one highlight from last year‘s event was the early morning return procession through the vineyards complete with music and dancing!)

Forest mushrooming & wine dinner
Do you like mushrooms? If you answer yes, then your place is with us in the hills and forests around Erdőbénye on 1 October — a weekend all about mushrooms!

Join us for:
A guided mushroom tour where, if we are lucky, we will be able to pick wild mushrooms.
A tasting of dry and sweet szamarodni — a wine made from botrytised grapes — with three of Erdőbénye’s winemakers.
Dishes inspired by mushrooms. During dinner sample wines from each winery with purchased coupons at a pop-up wine bar.
